DSCF0001.JPGIn honor of today's grand announcement, Fry, Saul and myself headed out for a light gravel ride. The forecast was for rain....but it had rained before we left, and the radar was clear. So we meet up at 1:00 PM to get a light spin on.

We rolled north to Denver, IA on some super smooth gravel. The rains had made the roads hard packed and dust free. Word.

DSCF0013.JPGWhile rolling north out of Waterloo, I turned around to snap a picture only to be greeted by some massive thunderheads building to the south.

DSCF0021.JPGOnce into Denver, we stopped at the local Kwik Star to fill bottles and use the bathroom. The second we left town we knew we might get a bit wet. We were hoping the storms were rolling south.....but, then again.

DSCF0023.JPGOnly 8 miles north of Waterloo, Fry looks into what he is about to roll into.

DSCF0030.JPGSaul was the same way...."Ahhh crap!"

That's it for the pictures. About 10 minutes after the last picture in this post the skies opened up to pouring rain. It wasn't a light rain either. It was the kind were water stands on top of the city streets! Each pedal stroke was...squish, squish, squish....until I walked in the door.
