Got back into Iowa around noon yesterday. Quickly unpacked to some degree, then attended to e-mails and other odd ball tasks around the apartment. I only half-ass unpacked, as on Thursday I fly to LAX to pick up the FJ in it's non-decaled state. After I pick it up.....it off to Breckenridge, CO for the Firecracker 50. Yeah, it's a lot of driving....but it needs to be done....and I would just rather sit down and do it instead of waiting around.
Last night I got some much needed intensity work. For prep for the 50 race I showed up on the hardtail Rotwild for the road group ride. It was an OK effort. Lungs felt good, but the legs where a little slack from the earlier 9 hour drive from Michigan. Got shelled out the back more than once....but was able to do damage control to keep the group with in view. It was all good.
Time to get things lined up for the next trip. I leave you with this moment of zen....
