Boulder to Winter Park to Boulder

The plan was simple. Load up with enough gear (30 lbs in the Ergon BA3 on my back) to ride to Winter Park, CO from Boulder, CO...and then return the next day. The trip was roughly 150 miles and included a good chunk with the climbing up and over the Continental Divide on both days. I could sit and give you all kinds of details, but the pictures speak for themselves...

First fuel stop in Rollinsville


Fueled by sugar!


The start up Rollins Pass Rd.


Then it got a bit more rugged.



The views started to change.



There was a little hiking....


Followed by more hiking...



Then some snow....


Finally made it to Rollins Pass. Now it's 15 miles downhill to Winter Park!



Yeah! After riding and hiking for 9 hours we made it to Winter Park! Time to check into the hotel....shower....and eat! Then it's off to bed to do it again the next day...this time back to Boulder.



Hmmmmmm, what for breakfast? How about some waffles!



Yep, it was good!


Rolling out of Winter Park for Boulder at 9 AM. Brrrrrrrrrr.


Heading back up to Rollins Pass at 11,066 ft.


Made it back to the pass after climbing for a little over 2 hours. Now it is time to head back down to Boulder. YES!!!!!!












Only 17 miles left...and it's all downhill!!!
